Thrones of Thorns
Thrones of Thorns
This piece, adorned with thorns, reflects the immense torment I felt when he left me. Each thorn represents a wound he left behind, sharp and unrelenting, a reminder of the love that turned into pain. The vessel at the center is my heart—cracked, yet still intact—showing how fragile yet resilient I was in the aftermath. I’ve included the idea of flatlining, pulling from that moment in the hospital when my heart stopped, weaving it into the design as a heartbeat line that flickers and fades. His note lingers in this piece too, fragmented and distorted, turned into something I can claim as my own. From the chaos of the thorns, there’s a hint of growth—a small flower breaking through or light shining from within—because even in that pain, I found a way to survive and transform. This piece is my story, my grief, and my survival made tangible.
This is a planter measuring 7” by 5.5” with 2inches of depth to the piece.
